It's all down to hardware/infrastructure limits.

I thought there was a Windows limit (in the registry or summat) but it
seems I was remembering BITS and related stuff.

We were comparing single-thread downloads vs multi-threaded.

10 threads).
But that's not the whole picture. It all kinda depends on everything.

Interesting finds when searching for info on this stuff.
