[Nottingham] Nottingham Tram test-run, 21 August 2014 22:00--01:00

Heads-up on geekery of another kind, later on this Thursday evening...

The first slow-speed gauging test-run of a tram on the new tram track
through the Meadows, to Wilford crossover and the return is scheduled
for 22:00--01:00 this evening.  This is done to test that a tram can
physically fit past the poles and platform edges, regardless of how
good the maths and previous construction checks were supposed to be!

This should be one of the new Alstom Citadis trams, probably under its
own power, with the intention to pass through the new stops/platforms
at Nottingham Midland railway station (on the "Karlsruhe Friendship
Bridge"), then turning left at the new junction to reach the Meadows
Centre, Meadows Embankment, Wilford Village stops; after that around
the corner to Nottingham Emmanuel School where the crossover is.
