If you think the documentation for Tomcat is bad, try installing IBM
WebSphere or Oracle WebLogic and deploying to them. *sobs*
For WebSphere I had to go to the length of getting specific patch files
and then hacking at certain JARs/Classes to make the bloody thing work.
As least WebLogic has classpath directives that (mostly) work.
