Folks,
Well I got an interesting support call over the weekend for...
A broken TV!
... But I don't fix TVs!!... (And I deliberately don't even have one!
Not got time for such mundane frivolity :-| ) But for the rest of the
world and family...
Much confusion ensued until this was noticed:
BBC iPlayer feeds aren’t available any more
http://iplayerhelp.external.bbc.co.uk/tv/feeds
The blog posts linked from there are quite apt:

So, my understanding is that all "3rd-party" apps/utilities for
viewing iPlayer via rss feeds are now abandoned. That includes
consumer bought devices such as TVs and 'set top boxes', and FLOSS
systems such as XBMC, MythTV, get_iplayer, and whatever else that used
to use the BBC rss feed for iPlayer.
That has just got to add up to a country load of unhappy campers and a
lot of distressed product support for all manner of viewers...
Phew!
My view is someone dropped the ball on that one!
'Twill be interesting to watch what happens next...
(Bad puns aside: An example of how not to run or terminate a service?)
Cheers,
Martin
