See ya in the cool of the Organ Grinder!

All welcome, coders, spectators, users and all new alike :-)

ps: Due to some very immediate day-long implications, there may well be
some comment about:

Web meltdown: BT feels heat from angry punters
Power outage in London fingered

... "UK residential and enterprise circuitry is affected with either
total loss of connectivity or massive latency and packet loss occuring.

"BT's Priority-1 contact phone numbers are saturated and even companies
with very big contracts with them are being advised of 'busier than
normal' lines and are advised to call back.

Another customer said: "Telecity Hex in the docklands seems to have
experienced a major power outage today. Seems to have affected BT
broadband, BBC news etc. We have some kit there which has rebooted...

BT internet outage was our fault, says Equinix
Faulty UPS takes out 10 per cent of BT customers

Telecity data center owner Equinix has 'fessed up to a "brief outage"
that knocked 10 per cent of BT internet subscribers offline this morning
in the UK as well as a number of other providers.

... experienced a power issue "with one of our UPS system at 8/9 Harbour
Exchange (LD8)" this morning.

... One customer said: "This is the root cause of the BT outage. I
suspect their connection to their peers failed to come back...

Yep, fallout from that seemed to linger for the rest of the morning.
Even though 'we' are not 'directly' a BT 'customer'...

And then there was also a significant fibre break at Birmingham for
another major backbone provider...

All somewhat unwanted 'fun'... Especially in this age of "The Cloud"...

Is this why IT people enjoy their beer? ;-)
