[Nottingham] [Maillist] 'Munging' the "From" mail headers on this list?

Folks,

The sharp-eyed of you will have noticed that since last weekend the
maillist "From" now lists the maillist address and your email address
now appears as part of the "Reply-To".

This new feature has been kindly added by our "lugmasters" hosts to
quite rightly support the use of DKIM[*].

We also now have a new twiddly-bit that can be twiddled... :-)

That of:

"Hide the sender of a message, replacing it with the list address
(Removes From, Sender and Reply-To fields)"

And:

"Reply-To: header munging - Should any existing Reply-To: header found
in the original message be stripped?"

What that means is that we can now hide a poster's email address from
the maillist mail.

That allows some email anonymity to avoid getting harvested by the evil
spammers.

However, that also means that people are denied the ease of replying to
someone offlist. Unless that is you have deliberately set your own
"Reply-To" for your own email sending.

Do we keep to the defaults (with your email address visible in any mail
postings)? Or do we run and hide from the spammers?

What say all ye on the list?

Cheers,
Martin
