Apologies for the relatively short notice on this.
This walk starts from close to Miller's Dale, taking in sections of the
Leek and Manifold Light Railway (one of the first to be converted to a
footpath in 1934) and even through one of the old tunnels.
Eats and refreshments can be had in Butteron (Black Bull, built in 1782)
or Wetton Mill Cafe after the walk. We could even go and check out the
Nan Tor cave and Old Hannah's Hole before food if we have the time.
Going to allow about 5 hours for the main walk (the actual walk will be
under 3.5 hours) for stops, general faffing around and a couple of more
hours for getting there/back. So a 0830 start from Beeston, should see
you back there around 1500-1600.
This is an easy walk, approach shoes should do (assuming it's not been
chucking it down).
Bad weather will halt the walk, a wee bit of rain/wind won't.
Please let me know if you'd like to join and if you're a driver or need
transport.
