Folks,

This has hit the news:

Samsung Linux on Galaxy...

Samsung to let proper Linux distros run on Galaxy smartmobes
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2017/10/19/samsung_linux_on_galaxy/

Galaxy S8 will allow for full Linux distro installs to be used through
DeX Dock
https://www.reddit.com/r/linux/comments/779sbr/galaxy_s8_will_allow_for_full_linux_distro/

Librem 5, the phone that focuses on security by design and privacy
protection...
https://puri.sm/shop/librem-5/

OK... So my reading suggests that the Samsung trick is to neatly package
up an 'app' to run in effect a chroot-ed GNU/Bionic alongside the
controlling Android/Bionic phone OS.

Does that not suggest that users are still vulnerable to whatever is
bundled in with the Android still?...

Meanwhile, how far away is the Librem?...

No doubt, further Rounded comment soon tonight! ;-)

Cheers,
Martin
