[Nottingham] Disc failure in a RAID 1 array

So it looks like my /dev/sda has papped it and my server is running a degraded RAID 1.
Further backups are running as we speak before I get into it.

This drive has given me problems in the past and always recovered, but I think it's clear that it's time has come. I can follow the steps from place like this easily enough: https://www.howtoforge.com/replacing_hard_disks_in_a_raid1_array

So what's the deal? Well...

The current drives are two Seagate ST2000DL003 Barracuda Green 2TB jobbies. Yes, "green"; not the best for RAID but they've run fine for 7 year 24/7 so I can't really complain.

At £170 for 2TB though....that awffy steep and looking through the Back Blaze reliability reports, Seagate over represents for failures; so I was thinking maybe WD? Any thoughts?
Where's a good place to buy? Scan? Amazon?
And any times on the easiest way to expand the RAID to the new size?
