Ben,

Thanks for the good kind offer.

We've done very good events at the Hackspace in the past, and there's a
good chunk of Linux people there, which is all good.

We're looking for something that is located more within an easy brief
walk from the city centre train and tram.

(We also like our food and beer :-) )

We'd certainly like to try the Hackspace if we organise a weekend event!

At present, the Overdaught at Canning Circus works well enough although
again, that is a little far out for some of our travellers...

One aspect that we get caught with for non-pub venues is for what is the
'throwing-out' time for the evening. At least with our various pub
venues, we're not racing the clock TED-talk style!

For venues in general, immediate thoughts are:

The function rooms at such as the revamped Organ Grinder, or above the
Falcon?

What's the state of play now for such as Fellows, Moreton and Clayton?
Or the Canal House even?

Or even try Ye Olde Trip again? (Unless the big drinking group are still
there...)

I'm guessing the Angel will be too noisy and unpredictable being as they
can get too busy.

The Malt Cross reserved area? (Or is that too noisy?)

The Salutation??

Anything in the creative quarter? (Although that's again getting a
little away from the train and tram.)

For our Derby people, is there anything new to us around the train
station itself??

Others?

Others' thoughts?

Cheers,
Martin
