Greets,
I'm trying to get CDRW packet CD writing going. Does anyone know what is going on here? ....

[root@dazzle68 linux]# cdrwtool -d /dev/scd1 -q
using device /dev/scd1
1222KB internal buffer
setting write speed to 12x
wait_cmd: Invalid argument
Command failed: 55 10 00 00 00 00 00 00 3c 00 00 00 - sense 05.26.00
00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 05 32 20 27 0a 00 00 00 20 00 00 00 00 20 00 96 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 08 00
mode_select: Illegal seek
set_write

... I'm using the pkt_mdk90.tar.gz file on Mandrake's site
which included UDF/packetCD patches.

I'm using the 2.4.19-16mdk kernel and all builds fine. I've also issued the commands:

mknod /dev/pkt b 97 0
pktsetup /dev/pkt /dev/scd1

to create the PacketCD node and assign it to my Poineer-DVDR-104 but get the msg..........:

Open packet device: No such device or address

.....Urghh!

I have my DVDR working great under CDrecord (well albeit a patched CDrecord for use with DVD!!)

Looked at /usr/src/linux/Documentation and on the related web sites. Some postings of similar probs but none with the errors I'm receiving.

Please be patient, this is only my 2nd kernel recompile ;-)

v.TIA
Daz
