I am not very good with names, and the other day I was trying to remember
names of people I had been introduced to a PLUG meetings. I looked in the
member profiles section and counted that the most popular names on the list
for PLUG members were Dave or Steven, therefore a random PLUG member is
statistically more likely to be called one of those names.
Maybe to eliminate name confusion in the future PLUG members should inherit
from a superclass PLUG identity known as Dave Stevens, by which all subclass
identities can be upcasted to.
It's a peculiar idea but not completely original:
There is the Italian anarchist group that all changed their names to Luther
Blisset.
The Monty Python sketch where all the Australian Uni lecturers were called
Bruce.
A dead spacemonkey in Fight Club assumes the identity of Robert Palson.
Ah well, time for my medication. ;-)
