Yeah thanks, it was a CPU throttle. Fedora is doing much better.

One more question. I've managed to track down some drivers for my 3com
3CRWE62092B Wifi card (Atmel 2.1.1) and now the card shows up as it is
supposed to in Info Centre etc.

However when I try and start PCMCIA I get the error:

Starting PCMCIA services: cardmgr[16749]: open_sock(socket 1) failed: Bad
file descriptor

Google is no help, nor are any of the books I've got.

Anyone here seen this?
