Hello,
Hope you all had a good Xmas break!
Two things:
1) The next meeting will be on Weds 14th Jan, not 7th as it says on the PLUG
website. This is due to the fact that the Uni only opens again on Monday and
doesn't get back into full swing until the week after. It looks like the
topic under discussion will be PHP & MySQL judging from the voting.

2) Antonios, Mike and I were having a chat about maybe doing some kind of a
installation day where people could come along and with their computers and
get Linux installed (or have their valuable data deleted and their system
left in an unbootable state, depending on optimism levels.)
I am flying the flag here to see if anyone salutes!
It would mean doing it on a weekend probably. I'm not sure where this could
happen as the security at the uni are funny about letting strangers into the
building at weekends (This is a LOCAL university for LOCAL people, we'll have
no trouble here...)
We could set up fileservers with linux images and install via a network.
The date suggested was mid Feb. We'd also need to advertise it too, so people
may actually attend it. We could probably get some flyers printed free.
Anyone with an angle on this idea might want to come to the next meeting and
discuss.

Regards,
