hi,

i use ATI 9000 on a laptop. It uses same driver as for desktop version.
Functions well. I am satisifed. It runs in Fedora C1.

This card is supported by Fedora, but you can add a proprietary driver
provided by ATI, which can deal with dual-head support (but you have to
remove the open/free Mesa lib!! which gives you trouble with apt-get!!
see driver details from link below)

When KDE 3.2 arrives in a week or two, it might not be necessary at all
to use proprietary driver, since dual-head support allegedly will be
sorted.

See http://www.ati.com/support/faq/linux.html for more. I also use an
ATI All-In-Wonder 128 Pro on my box at home, which have also worked well
with built-in driver of RH9.

Just make sure to purchase a card that is indeed supported.

Hope that helps.

/m
