When you get the login screen just press Ctrl + Alt + an F key This will drop you to command line. Login as root. Replace your XF86Config with the XF86Config.old or XF86Config.backup At least that's what I did each time I screwed up my XF86Config when trying to get dual monitors expanded desktop working correctly.
