Hello!
There will be a meeting this Wednesday at the usual place and time (7:30pm,
Room CM18, Computing and Technology building (opp Students' Union), Fylde Rd,
Preston).

The subject of the meeting will be 'Regular Expressions'.
These are a way of matching patterns in text e.g. to pick out all the lines of
a text file that contain URL's, or someones name, or vehicle registration
numbers etc.
It will be deliver by myself and John M.
I will be looking at the practical application of using regex's for things
like HTML form validation, and other system admin type things, and John will
be taking us deeper into the way the regex engine works (So I believe).

Perl, PHP, Python, Java and even M$ technologies like .Net support regular
expressions and they can also be used in database SQL queries, so they are
worth knowing about.

If you're interested, come along!
