[Preston] Hardware Firewalls

Ahoy hoy
I have been playing about with hardware firewalls recently (smoothwall, 
ipcop). I have a cheap pci dsl modem and would like to put this into an old 
box to act as a firewall however none of the ones that i've come accross 
seem to support using a pci modem as opposed to one connected via ethernet. 
Does anyone know of a firewall that will do this/a workaround? The modem i 
am trying to use is an alcatel.
