[Preston] Excessive memory usage

I reckon if nothing is segfaulting or running noticeably slowly, you
shouldn't worry too much about it!
My desktop has 760Mb odd of ram which it seems to find a use for,
according to free.
Still it would be nice to know whats going on I suppose...
