[Preston] New Member not receiving list mail

Good to see the web site's back!  One of my fellow CompSci'ers at uni
has recently signed up to PLUG using the registration form on the site.
It says there that a confirmation mail will be sent to confirm the
mailing list sign-up but he's not received it (or any list mail) yet.

Is this a known problem?  Could he be signed up manually?  Ta muchly in
advance (by proxy :-)).
