I have more than a dozen ThinkPads - support is excellent for GNU/Linux,
*BSD, Haiku, and even, on some models, Plan9.
Mac laptops are pretty, and run Debian well, but IBM ThinkPads last
forever (note I don't have any of the Lenovo models - my newest is an
X41).
If price is no problem, new models are available with pre-installed GNU
from LinuxEmporium.co.uk
