If you still have your original RAE certificate you can reapply and reclaim
your old callsign. Simple as that. If you can't find your RAE cert, but you
still have your old licence you can still renew.

Finally, I think you should be able to renew without that proof - coz the
RAE records
were computerised at about the same time, but you may have to flash the
passport or something..

to get back an amateur radio Licence?
I let mine lapse in about 85/86 :-(
