[SC.LUG] ISPs

in response to some emails about isp's and adsl...

i've just started providing adsl. i'm emailing from home so dont have prices
to hand. but i can say this:

there are no problems with linux (use a router/modem to connect for you -
access via lan)
in the past few months, BT broadband has gone done 3 or 4 times in this
area.. the service i have, has not gone down once.
i currently offer 512k/1MB/2MB @50:1 or 20:1 (i can find out about other
options)
you get a single fixed IP
i can provide web/email space if required
i do provide emergency 0845 access so you can dial in if adsl goes down
i currently use 512@50:1 in my office, and i'm very pleased with it
i have heard BT saying that currently for 1mb/2mb service, supply is not
meeting demand, you may not always get it.
i have various router/modems on offer

um.. sorry for the shameless plug!! i know thats not what this group is
about, but if i can help anyone out...  :) the only downside is.. at the
mo..
