[SC.LUG] File Perms- help!

Good morrow,

Please say someone can come up with a smart-ass way to get around this
problem.  

I'm going to be FTP'ing lots of file structures from one box to another.  

The files file structure is such that the root folder is owned by root, but
the folder within is owned by a user that has the same name as the folder
itself.  

My issue is that there are many of these folders, so does anyone know of a
clever script I could do that could crawl the directory tree and then own in
this way?
