Hi,

Meeting Robert Castley at Linux Expo' and watching him spend his day coding away while fielding 'What 
is it?' questions sparked inspiration to follow Mambo and give something back to the open-source 
community.

We have ported Mambo to EnGarde Secure Linux to provide a secure environment to host your Mambo 
Open Source powered website.

So whats EnGarde? Well EnGarde is an award winning Linux distribution that was created by Guardian 
Digital with security in mind. EnGarde is an excellent server platform for both Linux beginners and 
experienced sysadmins and has everything that is needed to run a secure internet facing server.

EnGarde can easily be configured to:

* Run a webserver housing multiple domains - Apache, MySQL, PHP, CGI (Instant Mambo Hosting!)
* Run a secure mail server with postfix/imap/pop
* A Secure FTP server with vsftpd
* BIND DNS Server

All services are configured using a web based management tool. The WebTool makes configuring the 
services easy and within a few mouse clicks the system could be online running websites, email, DNS or 
FTP without having to edit the configuration files. Of course, if you need to get on the command line to 
fine tune anything you can. SSH is secured using known hosts and keys generic to your account to 
prevent unauthorised access. You control who has access to the system. EnGarde is also preconfigured 
with many advanced security tools for intrusion detection (LIDS, snort and tripwire to name a few), has a
large user base around the world with an active mailing list.

What we have done is create a custom section in the WebTool to create a Mambo site in a few mouse 
clicks. When you fill in the information, the WebTool also writes the apache config file for you so that 
when you finish answering the questions, you are able to view your site instantly. Your MySQL database 
will also be created & configured on the fly and Mambo's configuration file updated with the correct 
information to access the database. At the same time, all the server information including domain, 
directory layout and site name are also written. Any changes that need to be made can be done inside 
Mambo's own administration section.

* Host as many Mambo sites as you want (great for those of you offering mambo hosting)
* No need to edit Mambo configuration files
* Host your Mambo site securely on award winning Linux software
