What are all the folder names in Linux supposed to mean and where should I put new applications like OpenOffice1.1.0? I put it in /usr/share/bin - is that acceptable or am I being a philistine? I only discovered afterwards that the previous version had been the only application in /opt/openoffice1.0.3. Richard
