Hi folks. About time I said hello to the list. I've been waiting for a 
meeting to come up in Chester but no luck so far. Have there been any in 
the past ?

I've used Linux and FreeBSD on and off over the years but moved over to 
Linux completely about a year ago. The only thing I miss from Windows 
now is dvdshrink.

I'm an embedded software developer by trade, with a particular interest 
in the operating systems side of things, porting RTOSes to new 
processors etc. Up to now I've mostly used VxWorks, Nucleus, eCos and 
uCOS. No embedded Linux yet.

I also do a bit of Python programming in my spare time, which I use for 
knocking up quick applications now and again. I couldn't find a decent 
karaoke player on Linux so I'm currently in the midst of writing a 
cross-platform one in Python. If anyone wants to help they'd be most 
welcome..
