My diary is free at the moment for Wed 26 Oct.
For a mid-Cheshire meet, what about The Hollow Tree in Stretton which is
just off the A49 about 100m South of the M56/A49 roundabout at J10. It
is busy at lunchtimes, but quiet in the evenings and it has plenty of
space. I've successfully held meetings of a dozen or so round a couple
of tables sufficiently remote from the bar to be undisturbed. There is
however no public transport access, and from listening to LUG chat, car
access/reliability seems to be an issue. However, by car, going
East/West is very fast, though perhaps a bit North!?
So eastbound on M56 you exit at J10 then take 4th exit which is A49
south, Whitchurch. Westbound on M56 it is the 2nd exit off the
roundabout. After a couple of hundred yards, or less, there is a right
hand turn down a little lane which takes you to the old A49, until very
recently a lorry park but now gated off, and the Hollow Tree pub is just
on the right.
For something to talk about on Wednesday, I have problems with loss of
date/time tags and file name cases when sending files to a USB memory
stick or to a FAT32 partition accessible to MS W*nd*z.
And for those who won't let vi get in the way of a drink, I've a round
to toast.
