I know Pam, and her partners in Africa are doing great things.
However, have a look at the other projects after your vote;
the CreditSMS one looks promising, too.

Please spend a couple of minutes help some practical social action to 
happen with farmers in Nigeria.

ARC (Africa Rural Connect)is encouraging people to send in ideas for 
development in sub-saharan Africa and is offering $3,000 for the idea 
that gets the most votes. My friend John Dada and his team in Nigeria 
have entered with a project they want to start which will help local 
farmers. They have been active in community development in this part of 
North Central Nigeria since some time in the 1990s. This means they 
build on existing social relationships and, regarding use of the 
technology that will be needed, they build on work they have already 
done to bring last mile connectivity to the area, and to raise awareness 
of ICT.

John's project is currently running third, 16 votes behind the leaders. 
If they get the money it will be used wisely and well - Not only is it a 
good idea, but they would be such deserving winners as they have 
overcome so many problems to get this far. In fact, they have recently 
had to take on a new loan, to repair damage to their mast, to maintain

(They had paid for insurance - but ......)

Their idea for farmers has a sustainable business plan but needs around 
$4,500 to set up, so $3,000 would be a great help in getting started.
