Thanks to Jason from the GeekUp [1] mailing list (who persisted, 
and loaded the latest Corel trial) I now have the original 
logo, with its shiny stained-glass like panels missing from 
the paper scan :o)

Thanks, too, for all the other suggestions in this thread.
It's lists like these that mark the FOSS community out as
something special :-)

As to my friend with the Corel files, I'm sure they're 
far more painfully aware of the potential harm of 
proprietary binary formats than before ;^/
