To see this type
~$ man dir_colors
or
~$ man -a dir_colors

~$ man 5 dir_colors
Although this last one could be man -s 5 dir_colors. To find what the 
correct option to man to get section 5 of the man pages type
~$ man man

and this will probably that this is a bzip2 compressed file. This is binary 
compressed man page troff gobbledegook best viewed using the man command.
