Back in Scarborogh I used 256 ADSL at 50:1 and despite the ratio got good
download rates.  So provided you aren't on a hub with a load of super-greedy
users, 512K @ 50:1 should be superior.  Mathematically the 256K @ 20:1 means
you get more bandwidth, but that's before taking into account that not
everyone uses it at the same time.
