Hi 

I had problems getting my system (Slackware 12) to automount.  I found a way 
round this for cdrom and flash, but it does not work for floppies.  I rarely 
use them, and I can mount them in the usual way,  but from a casual remark on 
a noticeboard, it seems the hardware  has no way to detect the presence of a 
disc in the floppy drive.  As a hardware ignoramus I would be interested to 
know if this is the case.
