Hello Everyone,
I am a delighted Fedora 8 user, I read all the mail shots from the SLUG
and do digging when 'things' don't work. The Java iced t works, flash
works, I was delighted when I got my IPCHAINS to work so I can watch
Season 4 of Battlestar Galactica when it is released on the torrents, my
CD/DVD writing seems to work ok, I do my monthly budget on the CALC in
open office. I use the Livna repositories and all in Linux is well,
nothing is wrong....
This is my problem, alot of people I have been talking to keep raving
about Debian - their spin seems to be that Debian is less tied in to
'corporate' based linux distros so I was thinking about giving it ago -
but I dont want to damage my Fedora 8 installation as I just have it
running on one disk as a stand alone linux machine. My partition
knowledge is fine if I want to run a dual boot XP/Linux or Linux only
(which I do - it's been nearly a year without any Microsoft software on
my machine !) The idea of running several different distros on one hard
drive just confuses me - how would you get them GRUB to boot them ?
I thought now would be a good time to try different distros, as Fedora 9
is due to be released next week and I feel I am starting to get
confident with Fedora. Any suggestions or thoughts would be welcomed..
Many thanks in advance if anyone responds to this......
