Thanks to everyone. I got memtest86 and ran it for 3 hours (could do more at night) and it passed all. So what I'll do is make sure I keep backups current and test the memory now and then. I don't get any strange crashes and the crc check fails only about once a month so it doesn't seem too serious. Tony Sumner
