IIRC I had the same issues...
My source.list needed the following entries:
deb http://ktown.kde.org/~nolden/kde stable main
Deb http://download.kde.org/stable/3.1.1/Debian stable main
After adding the 2nd one it seemed to run smoother, as the ktown address was
throwing up issues.
On a completely different note - how do you combine using Linux & designing
for ASP/VB script? Im also an ASP web developer - but using Linux more
often for other stuff.

Subject: [sclug] problems with Debian (Sarge) + KDE upgrade .. unable to
install new version
Hi
I've posted this to the debian-kde list also but the answers I have got
back so far are things Ihave already tried so I just wondered if anyone
here was using a similar system or is well versed in fixing this type of
thing! Currently I am having to work on Windows after trying to upgrade my
Debian Sarge system, which was running unofficial KDE3.0.3 debs to KDE 3.1
using the instructions and packages to be found here:
http://devel-home.kde.org/~nolden/kde/README
after purging the packages and running apt-get -f install apt-get
dist-upgrade to fix any broken dependencies I continued on and ran
apt-get install kdm kdebase
lots of unmet dependencies, all seem to be more or less the same ending
with:
Depends kwin (>+4:3.1.1-0woody2) but it is not going to be installed Depends
libkonq4 (>+4:3.1.1-0woody2) but it is not going to be installed
kdm: Depends kdelibs4 (>+4:3.1.1) but it is not going to be installed
my sources.list looks like:
deb http://http.us.debian.org/debian testing main contrib non-free deb
http://non-us.debian.org/debian-non-US testing/non-US main contrib non-free
deb ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian testing main deb
http://ftp.openoffice.tuxfamily.org/openoffice testing main contrib deb
http://http.us.debian.org/debian unstable main
deb http://ktown.kde.org/~nolden/kde stable main
deb http://security.debian.org/debian-security testing/updates main contrib
non-free
I don't really have any idea how to fix this at this point, so any advice
on what I should try now would be most appreciated :)
