Well if i where looking to invest money in a dvd writer then i would hold of 
for a bit because there are a few developments in the process. There is the 
introduction of blue laser technology that should be coming out some time in 
the near future which will allow you to cram even more on to a DVD and 
there's the problem with the standard type of encoding for DVD like the old 
VHS verses Betermax fight.
