Related to this, I am thinking of installing Usermode Linux on one of the
servers. Does anyone know of some good resources that will get me on my
way
with UML?

Raz has had some success I believe with UML. He was extremely helpful when
I was trying to do Debian UML (I still haven't got it running by the way -
need a proper step by step howto!!)
