Hi everybody
Finally got Broadband today, with BT Yahoo, and to no surprise, all
the installation manuals were biased and windows based. However, I got
hunting, and I found linux support for the hardware.
The modem itself is USB based, the model is Thompson/Alcatel
Speedtouch 330. I have found drivers for it, and by compiling the
driver, I have verification that the modem is workinig, however, one
problem is being reported, that the DNS server cannot be identified,
and that resolv.conf cannot be read correctly. I'm pretty new to the
whole conecpt of resolv.conf (Didn't know the file existed beforehand)
but I'm guessing that it stores the IP addresses of the DNS servers of
BT Yahoo, however, I don't have the faintest of ideas on how to write
this file. I can get the required IP information but have no idea how
it should be set out.
Anyone willing to lend me a helping hand?
Thanks in Advance
