Well, I happen to use Zen Internet's 512 kB/s ADSL service[1], which
I've been very happy with.

As for recommendations, that depends what you're after. I presume you 
want ADSL, since NTL seems to be the monopoly cable outfit in this area;
in this case I expect you'll benefit from having a good browse through
the pages at ADSLguide[2].
