You're doing it the right way, always bottom post. Generally that's
the way others here are replying to mail.

Although you're using thunderbird, MS mailers have a tendency to
top-post, which (although there's no right/wrong way) it generally
conflicts with most of the other mailers in the world. It's not the
action of just by default putting the cursor at the top of the screen,
it's that it also breaks the generally accepted quotation format of
inserting a character and then a space at the beginning of each line
and then wrapping the text at 72 cols [some people as you can see from
their headers are using Mutt].

Look out for 'Jingle' its got google's backing.
