[sclug] drawing network diagrams?

It seems a bit like visio (which some of the documentaion acknowledges) 
and OOo draw (which is presumably supposed to be a Visio clone). However 
I can't find how to make composite objects that behave like regular 
simple objects so that you can connect to them, or make new special 
objects to add to the rather meagre collection (e.g. in electrical there 
are only single pole switches!)

Anyone know if this can be done? Google hasn't revealed any secrets to 
me yet :-(
