I've not done this myself, but Tom's method seems optimal. Hopefully all the
LVM stuff works as it should. The only thing I'd say to exercise caution
over is resizing the ext2/ext3 filesystem; check that you're using the right
tool for the job - some are dangerous, but I can't remember which. If you're
using a modern distro that ships with LVM support etc., I would hope this
has all been sorted for you already.
