On my system (Ubuntu 8.10) the CD is /dev/scd0 as in:

> /dev/scd0 on /media/cdrom0 type iso9660 (ro,nosuid,nodev,utf8,user=edavies)

That's the automatic mount from inserting a recorded CD-R.
