Has anyone tried the current crop of distro's.? Do any of them stand out?
I'm using Debian Lenny as my desktop OS, and I was wondering if an update to
something slicker (Ubunto 10x, Mint, various others catch my eye in the
mags) will offer an improvement to my 'desktop experience'. I must confess I
was a little disappointed with Ubuntu 9x - a lot of stuff didn't seem to
work very well.
I just do the usual mundane stuff, email, web browsing, OO documents, a bit
of music ripping and conversion and editing, pics from my camera and so on.
The only real problem I have with Lenny is that the ability to work with RAW
images from my camera is sadly flawed.
Neil.
