That would almost undoubtedly be RIAA equalisation, which I have already
had applied by my pre-amp by the time the signal gets to my tape-out port.
I don't want to apply it twice!

I'll probably knock up a simple twin op-amp circuit run by a PP9 battery.
it's only a handful of components (or maybe Maplin have something similar
on their hobbyist kit rack. Porobably do)
