Hello all

Having (very speedily) disposed of some redundant kit via this list, I'm 
on the look-out for a slightly esoteric component. I've got a Compaq 
Deskpro SFF system (bought from Jamie's some years ago)in which the 
CD-ROM drive is ill - the system refuses to boot from a CD, despite the 
boot order showing the CD as first choice boot device. The CD-ROM drive 
is a Compaq CRN-8241B, with a slim-line 40-pin connector (not the 
standard 40-pin IDE connector) which carries power as well as data. Does 
anyone have one of these sitting in a drawer/cupboard which is surplus 
to requirements? If so I'd be glad to take it off your hands for a 
reasonable amount...
