Awesome, everyone; thanks! Sounds like MB's shell account is exactly
what I'm looking for.

Incidentally, I want shell hosting rather than dumb web hosting because
there are things where I want an always-on scriptable environment.
Cronjobs, backups, a bunch of small things requiring minimal
infrastructure but which still want a working CPU. Plus, being able to
build CGI programs on the same machine I'm going to deploy them on is
really useful for testing.
