Well, depends what you're after.  TCP can be quite bad at filling the
available b/w, depending on the characteristics of the link. That said,
its probably ok for a wireless link (because their not that fast) but bear
in mind TCP doesn't handle moderate drop-packet-rates well.

Besides, if what you're after is the effective bandwidth when FTPing 
files, then FTPing a file is the best way of measuring this ;^)
