Following the excellent advice given here when I was trying to watch DVDs, 
that's the first thing I checked (it says '1' - dunno if that means its 
working properly tho ;)

I'm planning to play around with elvtune (now that conjours imagery) tomorrow, 
but I don't expect it will have much impact.
